It all started when…

National Pawn was founded in 2001 by a hardworking father and son duo with a vision to create a community-focused pawn shop in Kansas City. At just 17 years old and still in high school, the son helped his father build the business while his father continued running Jack Swalls Automotive in Kansas City, KS.

As the pawn shop grew, so did their commitment. Eventually, the father sold Jack Swalls Automotive and joined National Pawn full-time, bringing years of business experience and a strong work ethic to help shape the shop into what it is today. After decades of serving the community, he retired in 2023, passing the torch to his son, who now proudly runs the business, continuing the legacy of integrity, dedication, and customer-first service.
